Breeze
Breeze is a concept product designed to assist firefighters with bee removal tasks. It was developed to address two main issues: the physical strain on firefighters who must wear thick, three-layer protective suits during the sweltering summer, and the current practice of exterminating honeybees which are legally protected and ecologically beneficial, rather than capturing and releasing them. The system includes an air-conditioned backpack that injects cool air into the protective suit, which then circulates and exits to keep the wearer cool. Additionally, it features a specialized vacuum designed to capture honeybees safely without harming them.

We visited a fire station to examine the equipment used for bee-removal calls. We confirmed that firefighters must wear triple-layered protective suits even in extreme summer heat. Furthermore, there is a lack of specific equipment and clear guidelines for protecting honeybees

We reviewed university research and existing patents regarding wearable air conditioners. Through this technical audit, we identified the Peltier element which simultaneously emits cooling and heating when an electric current is applied - as the most suitable component for wearable cooling systems due to its compact efficiency
